Hello hunters!
Well this time of year is always promising for gamers and hunters, and it didn't fail us again! Monster Hunter 3G is coming out for the US and Europe in the form of Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate! Dust off your hunting gear, or don't, since you're gonna have to start fresh.
MH3U is going to have two versions: the Wii U version, which will feature an online function, possible voice chat, and HD 1080p graphics; along with a 3DS version, which will feature 3D graphics and... that's about it. So why get two versions? Well the 3DS won't have an online function. Bummer, right? But you can import your data from the Wii U version to the 3DS version via an app on both your 3DS and Wii U! Well fantastic, monster hunter on the go, but why get both? Well you can take your 3DS MH3U version with you anywhere, and complete the same online quests solo. So when you get back from your trip you can impress all your fellow hunters with that fancy Alatreon sword and shield that you didn't even want/need.
But what happens if you can only get one version? You can still link up with your buddies that only have the 3DS version by inviting them to link up to your Wii U and play together, or vice versa. Of course four 3DS's can always link up to each other, also.
MH3U will feature a new target lock-on feature and a comeback of underwater comeback -lacking in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd-, along with every weapon that has ever graced the Monster Hunter world.
Speaking of weapons, bowguns are going back to the boring light/heavy bowgun configuration instead of the Build-A-Bowgun style of Monster Hunter Three (Tri). Bows are indeed returning along with: dual swords, gunlances, and hunting horns.
Lastly, the localization names of the monsters. So far we have:
Jinouga: Zinogre (yuck)
Jinouga Subspecies: Stygian Zinogre (has to do with the River Styx in Greek mythology, means hellish)
Urcusis: Lagombi (yuck yet again)
Doboruberuku: Duramboros (yay! Easier name!)
Bracchidios: Brachydios (just a change in spelling, not pronunciation)
Aoashira: Arzuros
Well that's about it, hunters. See ya next week!
